Kevin Treffer, Laura Rosch – OMM Workshop: The Application of Osteopathic Concepts and Principles in the Age of COVID-19

The physician learner will be able to: 
•    Describe the Lymphatic system including, the lymph fluid, lymph vessels, function of the system, & mechanisms of flow.
•    Integrate the body’s integration through the sympathetic and parasympathetic innervations of the body and Chapmans’ reflexes.
•    Describe what lymphatic pump techniques (LPT) are accomplishing in the animal models (healthy, lower respiratory illness, and cancerns).
•    Describe how LPT helps to protect and aid the immune system in patients with pneumonia.
•    Perform specific lymphatic techniques for patients with lower respiratory illness such as COVID 19 patients.  This will include ways to teach a patient, quarantined at home, to perform procedures on themselves to aid in their treatment and the how they can be taught via a Telemedicine model. 

Accreditation Statements:
The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1.75 AOA Category 1-A Credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation.

Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Creditsä.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) and Kansas City University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
